Eirene Constantinou is an artist, researcher and cultural producer living and working in Larnaka, Cyprus. She holds a BA/MA in Visual and Applied Arts from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her practice explores an interdisciplinary approach around visual art forms such as painting, photography and video in dialogue with contemporary sculpture and traditional ceramics, site-specific installations, participatory socially engaged workshops and sound performances that activate public space. In 2020, Eirene opened the doors of EVOHK, an independent artist-run space at the center of the city. She has been ever since, devoted to cultivating a greenhouse for co-creation, social engagement and cultural sustainability. Recently, she participated in two international trainings of Youth Peace Ambassadors Network and Erasmus+ on peace education, non-violent communication, active citizenship and conflict transformation, advancing her knowledge and experience on participatory approaches to learning, project management and community engagement. She is actively involved in the development and empowerment of creativity, education and social action through the arts, currently working with Sistema Cyprus, Hope For Children CRC Policy Center, Youth Makerspace Larnaka, Larnaca Cultural Foundation and Larnaka 2030.
