Escapism: A Path of Reflection, Healing, and Exploration
Visual Voices x Ksenja Oksin
ART EXHIBITION, ARTIST TALK
3-13 October 2025
EVOHK artist-run space
Visual Voices, (CY), Generation for Change (CY), l’atelier des artistes en exil (FR) and EVOHK artist run space invite you to Escapism: A Path of Reflection, Healing, and Exploration by Ksenja Oksin. Through a series of AI-enhanced portraits, paintings, and video work, Ksenja Oksin explores both physical and psychological dimensions of escape, examining how individuals respond to adversity. What does it mean to escape? A fleeting breath, a desperate flight, or a quiet rebellion?
Structured in four acts, the exhibition unfolds as a narrative inquiry:
• Act I: The Personal Pulse – Escapism as emotional necessity
• Act II: The Social Mirror – Escapism as cultural symptom
• Act III: The Human Face – Escapism as survival
• Act IV: The Reflective Return – Escapism as healing
Concept By intertwining trauma and resilience, the works illuminate emotional landscapes shaped by displacement and longing. The project does not offer escapism as an answer—but rather as a question:Is it a sanctuary or a trap? A necessity or a privilege? When does escapism shift from an individual experience to a political consequence? Are we escaping toward growth, healing, and transformation or away from truths that demand confrontation?
